A House Commiittee is expected to send to the floor a resolution holding former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt. Lerner has refused to testify before Rep. Darrell Issa's Oversight and Government Reform Committee, claiming the Fifth Amendment (the right not to incriminate herself by discussing possibly criminal activity). Josh Hicks of the Washington Post describes the controversy at the link below.
ACL is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined ACL to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. Contributions to ACL are not subject to FEC regulation or disclosure requirements, and corporate donations are permitted.
