The Conservative Caucus (TCC) is now Americans for Constitutional Liberty (ACL).
After much discussion, the Board of Directors decided that the new name would more clearly describe to the general public and potential supporters the mission of the organization. A revised mission statement, “providing nonpartisan grassroots leadership in support of constitutional liberty, limited government, and American independence”, was also approved.
We had found that the word “Caucus” confused many people. Some did not know what a caucus was, while others assumed that TCC was an organization of conservative members of Congress.
Americans for Constitutional Liberty more specifically declares our focus on the U.S. Constitution, which has been a hallmark of the organization ever since its founding in 1974.
The name also clearly defines the liberty which we seek to defend as that of the Founding Fathers, based on Biblical truths and spelled out in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It is not the more modern, secular, and ever-changing liberty of the “progressives”, which often deprives us of our liberty. Americans for Constitutional Liberty seeks to reduce the size of the Federal government within its constitutional limits, enforce the separation of powers between the three branches, and to protect Americans from both foreign enemies and an overpowering government.
The Conservative Caucus is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined TCC to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. TCC can receive corporate donations.
