Socialism Today - The Green New Deal and More

The “Green New Deal”

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had hardly been elected to Congress when she released her “Green New Deal” scheme, which in its earliest and most honest incarnations would ban gasoline-powered cars, provide “economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work,” “decommission every nuclear plant,” “get rid of farting cows and airplanes” and “upgrade or replace every building in US” -- all in the name of stopping “global warming.”

The Green New Deal sounds insane, and of course it is. At estimated costs of up to $93,000,000,000,000 over a decade, or $600,000 per household, it would bankrupt the government and leave American families in great poverty. Doubt it? Look at Venezuela, with no food in the stores in spite of incredibly fertile farmland, and without electricity, safe water or even operating hospitals. But mere sanity fails to wake up those who believe the socialist curriculum in schools and universities.

Astonishingly, the Congressional resolution for this fiscally reckless socialist fantasy quickly got 94 sponsors and cosponsors in the House of Representatives, and 13 in the Senate.
