Cleaning Up Congress Requires Term Limits

Conservatives believe that congressional term limits are needed and that Congress has become too much of a privileged ruling class, according to a poll conducted by The Conservative Caucus.  Term limits had the support of 98% of those responding to the poll.

Similar majorities said that Congressmen are paid too much, get too large a health care subsidy, and should not be eligible for an annual cost of living pay increase.  A slightly smaller number, 90%, favored abolishing congressional pensions.

The poll showed 97% support for withholding pay for members of Congress if they fail to pass a budget by the end of the fiscal year.

More concern about Congress was demonstrated by the fact that 99% said that cleaning up Congress was the necessary first step in draining the Washington swamp.

The Conservative Caucus is a grass roots public policy action organization, formed in 1974.  It was active in defeating the SALT II Treaty, repealing the Catastrophic Coverage Act, blocking the Clinton health-care takeover, impeaching President Clinton, stopping amnesty for illegal aliens, persuading the House of Representatives to sue the President regarding ObamaCare, and promoting the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh.

The Conservative Caucus, a project of Americans for Constitutional Liberty, is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined ACL to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. Contributions to ACL are not subject to FEC regulation or disclosure requirements, and corporate donations are permitted.
