Rather Than Fearing a Shutdown, GOP Should Stay Strong on Border Wall

The Daily Signal’s Peter Parisi writes that, “weak-kneed Republicans” are in need of a “crash course” that teaches, “the best way to overcome a phobia—in this case, ‘shutdown-ophobia’—is to confront the fear head-on, rather than running away from it.”

“The tutorial in messaging is needed because, until Trump forced their hand, GOP leaders in Congress were poised to throw away the only leverage they have to secure funding for the wall, by agreeing to another continuing budget resolution with almost no money for the wall.”

The president has called on Congressional Republicans to stand strong on Border Wall funding. The government is currently in a partial shutdown as Dems refuse to provide Trump with funding.

The Conservative Caucus, a project of Americans for Constitutional Liberty, is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined ACL to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. Contributions to ACL are not subject to FEC regulation or disclosure requirements, and corporate donations are permitted.
